The richest PMMs are the ones with the most freedom

And the most fun...

Creativity kills.

I want to be rich. I mean filthy…stinking…rich.

The level of rich where you can say “F**k you” to anyone without consequences (other than maybe a knuckle sandwich.)

Oh…you thought I was talking about money?

Maybe at one point in my life, I was. But I’ve found a new way to get rich and it feels a lot better than watching numbers in the bank account.

I’m talking about creative freedom. And now that I’ve had a taste, it’s the one thing I can’t live without.

Let’s have some fun…

A Note That We Wrote (for our Sponsor)

Did you know the average Navattic customer uses demos for ~5 use cases?

Let’s get real—one boring 'overview demo' on your homepage isn’t cutting it. If you’re not using interactive demos to level up your content, campaigns, and outreach, you’re leaving money on the table. Period.

Navattic just released their State of the Interactive Demo Report—Year 3, baby. We’re talking insights from over 300 users and a deep dive into the top 1% of demos on their platform.

Want to know how the best are crushing it with interactive demos?

💰 The best type of money comes without strings

Growing up with 2 brothers and a single mom was tough. I still remember what it was like to worry about a paycheck.

Instead of learning about the value of a dollar, I learned a different lesson.

Earning that dollar is stressful.

Fine…take my lunch money.

And so it’s easy to see the wall of Jordan’s behind me.

What you don’t see…a young boy settling for KSwiss and Phat Farms.

Is that part of my motivation? Sure.

But if I ever get the courage to go to therapy then they will probably tell me to “heal up, homie.”

Talking to sales? Definitely not a marketer.

So now that I’ve been chasing money for over 10 years…I’ve had a new realization. And it was because of our conversation with Devin Reed.

The richest people (in SaaS at least) are the ones with the most creative freedom.

I worked on a team at Klue who doesn’t play by normal marketing rules.

Heck…I co-founded We’re Not Marketers…who has no rules.

And I’m seeing the positive impact on my mind, and my output.

Me getting out of shit I don’t want to do so I can be happy

So my tip to you is, whether you’re in house or doing your own thang…stop doing the shit that drives you crazy.

If you’re doing fractional then you need to pick a niche that you love. STOP BEING A FRACTIONAL PMM, and be a niche consultant instead.

And for my fellow in-house folks, that might mean working with your boss on a new job description. I helped Hunter Sones at Klue do just that.

Shout out to my lil’ bro

So there we go. You’ve been given the secret to getting richer than you’ve ever been.

You owe me 10% of future profits (just kidding…or am I?)

Until next time, my fellow Misfits.
