👻 Job hunting sucks, especially when recruiters are a-hole
It’s 9 am, you’ve just woken up.
Feeling groggy because you’ve spent last night doom-scrolling, your eyes are half open and you’re browsing job alerts.
You don’t remember how many job applications you sent yesterday, but you’re already tired of it and your day hasn’t even started yet.
The main reason? Recruiters are either ghosting you once you’re in the process, or you just never heard back from them.
This is something too many PMMs are experiencing. In hiring markets, we’re often treated as numbers, instead of humans
copy-pasting your resume into Workday takes its toll
But how do you make sure that we don’t suffer in silence like when sales ask for the new one-pager (😢)
Follow this method to dodge these recruiting bad practices
Define your ICP (ideal COMPANY profile)
Position yourself effectively as a PMM
Watch red flags and weird internal behaviors
Always defined guardrails when starting assignments
Ask to be compensated as often as possible
Take the back door when possible, you’ll cut corner
so many hiring red flags
There’s so many more red flags in this hiring market, here’s what you should pay attention to:
➟ They give you assignments, without guardrails or compensation
➟ They have an unclear understanding of why they need a PMM and no in-depth answer to specific responsibilities
➟ They are making you report to the CRO—PMMs can’t just be responsible for revenue
➟ Inconsistency between interviews, or misalignment
